WHO global workshop on enhancing sequencing for SARS-CoV-2
In line with the Strategic Preparedness and Response Plan (SPRP) 2021 for COVID-19 and WHO’s Global Risk Monitoring and Framework for SARS-CoV-2 variants, WHO is working with Member States and partners to increase SARS-CoV-2 sequencing capacities and encourage timely sharing of geographically representative sequences and supporting data.
WHO is hosting a virtual global workshop to agree on a common vision and way forward for a global coordinated plan to increase SARS-CoV-2 genetic sequencing capacities to detect SARS-CoV-2 mutations and variants and to monitor virus evolution worldwide.
Interpretation in the 6 UN languages will be provided.
